You find out because a buyer tags you angry. Or a friend forwards a page that looks like yours — same thrift pics, different WhatsApp. The clone already took deposits. Your real number is suddenly “the fake one.” This isn’t a branding problem. It’s theft with your face on it.
How they pull it off
They scrape your grid. Slightly different username. Maybe a blue tick that isn’t real. They DM your commenters: “new number, old one got stolen.” Or they go live with your product shots. By the time you hear, three people have paid.

When a clone is live
Screenshot everything. Report on the platform. Post a clear Story with your real links. Message recent buyers: check the handle, check the profile link. Don’t get into a public flame war with the fake page — it spreads their handle. Quiet, specific, repeated: here’s how to know it’s me.

Match the bio link to what they sent you. Open the trust profile — sales count, name, store URL. If they only want a personal transfer and won’t show a verifiable profile, walk. Red flags guide is the longer version.
